Not a bug as you obviously never finished the quest (or you wouldn't have been able to do it again). However, it is a bit of an odd situation that you are allowed to get as far as you can without finishing it.

It's a little weird, because the Chabeck Village mission doesn't have this requirement and you can get ferried to Elona just by helping people with the Sunspears in Tyria/Cantha quest without actually accepting the quest yourself.

what's interesting is that you can only get ferried if you have a secondary profession. otherwise kormir won't let you go! why's this odd? because the only way not to have a secondary profession is to have come from nightfall, and she won't let get ferried back!

Kormir doesn't like any Elonians getting back....maybe she wants to hide something.

Wouldnt make sense for her to transport an Elonian character to NF during the Sunspears in Kryta quest, would it? Doesn't to me. If you were born there, you obviously wouldn't need to get there....
